The replacement screen is working just as well as the original. I hope it lasts longer then the one that came with the computer. That one crack 10 months after after purchase. It wasn't ccovered under the warranty. The HP warranty customer service person quoted me $350 to repair it. I was able to repair it myself for about $ 65.00 It was a little difficult at first but just follow the directions on line. Make sure you order the matte or gloss screen. I order the matte but receivrd the gloss and I am ok with that. I'm just glad it works. Here is hoping for many years of service.

We ordered this replacement screen after our daughter broke hers on her laptop. Even with the warranty we purchased, we were still going to be charged over 400.00 to replace it where we bought it. We ordered this screen and after a brief You-tube video tutorial, screen was installed and all is working great! All for less than 75.00! Couldn't be happier!

First off, this is not a professional monitor. However, it is GOOD. For the sub $300 price, you get 24" and the much preferred 16:10 aspect ratio with 1920x1200 pixels. I have used it for various work related tasks and it really is nice. I've used it for watching movies, and I would give it a 8/10 there. Blacks could be blacker, and it doesn't have the viewing angles of an IPS monitor. But it also doesn't have the price of an IPS monitor either. This is the best monitor I have seen AT THIS PRICE POINT. I have a Dell WFP2408 IPS panel at work, and I would not recommend it over this one, unless you must have the color performance of an IPS panel.

I've never been a huge fan of HP/Compaq computers; I had a bad experience with a lemon once. I really only got this monitor because I wanted a 3-monitor setup, and the graphics card required one of them to have a native displayport. I must say that this monitor is amazing. The screen quality is noticeably better than the rest of the monitors in our small office (not to mention that the resolution is better than most other monitors in its price-range). My boss was so impressed that I am pretty sure any future monitor purchases will be this model.
Other notes: It can rotate (I am finding that a lot of monitors these days can't rotate, which does harm its versatility). It has a carrying handle (It isn't a huge feature, but it is actually quite useful. I mean, it is really hard to carry an LCD monitor unless you use two hands, or you tuck it under your arm).

I bought this monitor as a replacement for a 6 yo fancy HP2305 monitor. Of course this monitor is cheaper, but so is the feature set. Two problems come to mind:
1. The default settings are just horrible for this monitor. It has a few defaults one can choose. but all of them are bluish. Did anybody at the company try to put up a brown spotted cow and realize their monitor is making poor cow bluish. I got this monitor to work pretty decently, but I needed to make BIG changes to come to a neutral point. Changed Color Scheme to RGB 255, 200, 200, luminosity to 100, Contrast to 70. OK, factory defaults come too dark, too strong and too blue. I used the previous fancy monitor on default values for 6 yrs, and was happy with those. These defaults are nowhere close to neutral.
2. I understand the arguement that this is a cheapo product. A result of that is that it does not have any fancy viewing angles. I can buy all that logic up to this point. Buf it I sit smack in... Read more

I have been increasingly more interested in my photography hobby and came to the eventual realization that monitor color and luminance calibration was necessary. It just did not make sense, spending sometimes hours post processing a photo on my computer, only to have it show up with different colors on somebody else's screen or printer.
I have never before calibrated any monitors or TVs and considered, in addition to this product, the Spyder 3 Pro and LaCie Blue Eye. I finally decided on the Eye-One Display 2.
I have now calibrated my dual LCD monitor setup (Dell 2405WFP and 2408WFP) and Dell XPS 17" laptop with complete ease and great, consistent results. Because I actually have 2 separate PCIe video cards, calibrating dual LCD is as easy as calibrating one with Windows Vista 32 bit.

There isn't much to really say about this product other than it does exactly what it say it will, does it relatively quickly, and potentially has nothing for you to learn before initial use. I had five monitors to calibrate; all LCDs except for one laptop display, four of them associated with dual monitored systems, mixed on both Windows XP and Windows Vista. I had all five calibrated within 20 minutes of opening the package, and reading nothing more than the quick start flyer; the software wizard in Easy Mode literally did everything in 4 steps without much input from me. On the monitor I perform a lot of graphic work on, I switched to the advanced mode and found the software to be just as intuitive and complete as it was in easy mode. Great product.

I bought the Eye-One recently since I was having trouble seeing shadow details on both my monitors.
I am not sure if they changed packaging since the last reviewer, but mine was simple. Open the flap, fold the front down and everthing is right there for your use. It folds back up nice and easy to store everything until later use.
As soon as I got the package, I brought it to my work computer and plugged it in. I used the "easy" method for this computer. It walked me thru each step (not many in the "easy" method). I was done in a few minutes. One great part is it shows you a comparison of before and after. It is amazing how bad the monitor was calibrated before.
I also brought it home for my laptop. I used the "advanced" setting for this computer. It was just as easy. There is an explaination on each step of what you need to do. The process only took a few minutes and I was done.
